Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-07-29

These terms cover what you can do with SpendPilot, what we will do, and what happens if something breaks. We wrote them to be readable, not to trap you.

1. What SpendPilot is

SpendPilot is a daily AI-spend tracker. You connect an OpenAI or Anthropic account, and we give you a dashboard, alerts, and reporting on what that account is actually costing you. SpendPilot is not an MLOps platform, an inference router, or a system of financial record — it is a tracker that surfaces spend so you can act on it.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use SpendPilot to:

3. Your account

When you create a SpendPilot account you agree to:

4. Subscriptions & billing

SpendPilot subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Your plan renews monthly or annually depending on what you choose at checkout. We do not offer refunds on partial months for downgrades or cancellations — the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Full pricing details live on the /pricing.html page.

5. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee it. SpendPilot may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, incidents, or upstream provider outages — you can also read our status updates at any in-product banner. SpendPilot is a spend tracker, not a system of financial record: do not rely on it as your sole source of truth for billing reconciliation or audit-grade spend reporting.

6. Data we store

SpendPilot stores account data, API-key metadata (encrypted at rest), and spend records needed to power your dashboard and alerts. The full breakdown of what we collect, why, and your rights around it lives in our Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party providers

SpendPilot reads spend and usage data from OpenAI and Anthropic on your behalf. Your use of those providers is also subject to their own terms of service. If a provider changes its data-access model in a way that breaks SpendPilot, we will post a notice on this page and on the homepage.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPENDPILOT'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE FEES YOU PAID SPENDPILOT IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. SPENDPILOT IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA.

9. Termination

You may stop using SpendPilot at any time by closing your account — you can do this from the dashboard or by emailing legal@spendpilot.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the acceptable-use section above, with notice where practical.

10. Changes to these terms

We will post material changes on this page and announce them via a banner on the homepage. The last-updated date below reflects the most recent revision.
